Forever Romance Holiday Hookup Blitz with Debbie Mason, Jessica Lemmon & Katie Lane

I know it's a little early to start thinking about Christmas, at same time it's never to early to start looking for those holiday reads. Today you might want to hookup with a one or all the selections for the holidays. Excerpts, Reviews, and Prizes make the holidays oh so much fun.

First up is SNOWBOUND AT CHRISTMAS by Debbie Mason

Ex-cop Cat O'Connor is bored working for her sister, Chloe, as a personal assistant on the set of her soap opera. Until Chloe gets an opportunity to audition for the role of a lifetime and asks her identical twin to substitute for her on the soap with no one the wiser. It's a perfect switch-until Cat attracts the attention of the mysterious Mr. Tall, Dark, and Way-too-handsome leading man.

Grayson Alexander never thought being snowbound in the charming town of Christmas, Colorado, for the holiday would get so hot. But between working with sexy, tough Cat on set and keeping his real reason for being there under wraps, he's definitely feeling the heat. And if there's one thing they'll learn as they bring out the mistletoe, it's that in this town, true love is always in season.

The Boys of Summer are back! In Katie Rose’s sweet, sparkling novel, the newest New Jersey Sonic falls for the woman who’s trying desperately to save his career.

Physical therapist Jessica Hart has learned her lesson: Never date professional athletes. She’s been down that road, and barely recovered after the relationship crashed and burned. Then Jessica meets Gavin King. An All-Star slugger with chiseled good looks, Gavin was traded to the Sonics because he hurt his knee sliding into second, and now his future is in her hands. Gavin’s no bad boy—but he’s tempting enough to make Jessica think twice about all her rules.

Gavin is trying to find a comfortable routine. If he wants his old life back, he must take it easy, stay out of the limelight, and keep his distance from gorgeous redheaded physical therapists. The thing is, Gavin isn’t the kind of guy to sit on his ass and let other people pull his weight. And when he sees something he wants, he can’t help but fight for it, even if it means risking everything, even if it only lasts a single moment: like one kiss from Jessica.

"An exciting new voice in historical romance." --Anna Campbell, awardwinning author of What a Duke Dares

"Monsieur Andrews, welcome to my home."

At the smoky, velvet sound, Cameron swung around. Every function in his body--heart, breath, blood ceased to function.

She was lovely. More than lovely.

Tendrils of raven hair framed a face so exquisite, it disarmed him. Her mouth, a soft, dewy pink, parted. And those eyes, as dark as Creole coffee, intelligent and assessing, roamed over him and then back to take hold of his. He needed to step closer, to stroke her skin. To possess her. But would his wealth and worldly experience be a match for the free-spirited Cajun-born widow?

Across the oceans, between worlds old and new--two lost souls find themselves at a crossroads.

The Earl's New Bride by Frances Fowlkes
Publisher: Entangled Scandalous (Sept. 2015)

Genre: Historical

Blurb:

England, 1819

The Earl of Amhurst has returned to his estate in search of a wife and, more importantly, an heir. Simon Devere isn't interested in some comely, simpering creature. A beautiful woman only brings heartbreak and ruin, and Simon's disfigured visage is proof enough of that. No, he wants a wife who is unattractive and undesirable—and the homelier, the better.

But nothing about Lady Henrietta Beauchamp is homely. She is lovely and sweet...and struggles to mix with polite society when she would so much rather have plants for company. And yet Simon is her only hope for keeping Plumburn Castle in her family's possession. Even if it means marrying a man she doesn't love.

It's an impossible and unlikely match...unless this awkward beauty can bring hope back into a solitary beast's life.

Dance With The Devil by Angela Dennis (Review)

Yesterday, I finished Dance With The Devil by Angela Dennis, and I liked this story a lot. Okay, we have Carrick and Jillian who are both running from their past, but they both get called home. They didn't know they were technically enemies until they reach their pride lands. When they return chaos is in the air and Jillian needs to pretty much assume the roll of Alpha. However, she never thought this to be possible since she's a half-blood. Man there is a lot of politics that go into this pride. She needs to find a mate, and the conclave has chosen one for her. However, it's a little late, because she had accidentally mated with Carrick. Boy does it all get all kinds of crazy when she needs to ignore that she mated with Carrick and pretend to mate with his brother Lucas. Say what. Yep, and this is for the good of the pride.

Jillian is faced with the challenge of staying with her actually mate or try to mate with Lucas for the good of the pride. Definitely, a hard choice. She's always been consider an outcast by her kind, but she's willing to protect them from whatever course.

I did enjoyed the story, but it did have me biting my nails at times. It's pretty intense at times and sitting there hoping she picks Carrick. There are so many risk factors if she chooses Carrick, and she weighs all the options. She does have wonderful friends that help with her choice. I like how they break things down so she can see that it would be a disaster if she didn't stay with Carrick.

Dance With The Devil is a great start to Angela's new series. You see the politics of the pride and how they are challenge on all sides of the story. We have Jillian and Carrick trying to see what is the best for everyone, which isn't always the easiest. By the end, we have a happy ending for Jillian and Carrick, but at the same time gearing up to face the conclave. Not a cliffhanger per se, but leads to the next book. By the end of Dance With The Devil, I'm clamoring for the next book, because I want to see who gets mated next and what happens with the concave show up. Cause they are not going to be happy with certain events. Now I have to wait and be patient. Ugh. Other than the issue on waiting, Dance With The Devil is a pretty good read, and Angela does a pretty good job building this world with lion shifters.

Guest Post from Angela Dennis for New Release DANCE WITH THE DEVIL

I would like you all to welcome Angela Dennis as she takes over, and talks about her new release Dance With The Devil

Finding Strength in the Madness

There is nothing more beautiful than watching another person embrace themselves, flaws and all, and own their own power. When I sat down to write Dance with the Devil, I knew that I wanted my heroine to embody this idea. Her journey to self-acceptance is littered with violence, heartbreak, and sorrow. But the pain she experiences serves to mold her into a woman who is capable of anything. But Jillian isn’t alone. Most of us struggle daily to accept ourselves, drowning in self-criticism, and struggling to rise above.

Jillian is an outcast. She’s forced to live within the confines of the Pride, but she is different from the other lions. First off, she’s a half-blood. Her mom was a witch, her father the Alpha of the Pride. And her animal form is a black lion, a creature that is only supposed to exist in nightmares. Acting out of fear, the Pride torments Jillian from birth. She is beaten down and made to feel inferior because of who and what she is. But Jillian is anything but broken. She fights back, killing her father’s first enforcer when he attacks her. But that action sends her life spiraling out of control, making her question her sanity and believe the lies. Despite that, it is also the catalyst for her journey into self-acceptance.

Several years later, she is forced to return to the Pride as their Alpha. She embraces her new role, determined to save the very people who tormented and chased her away. But in order to do so, she has to accept herself—own her own power.

I love Jillian. Not just because she’s a strong, witty, confident heroine. But because she is a beacon of hope. Proof that anyone can rise above their circumstances and kick some serious ass. I find inspiration in that. I hope you do as well.

Claimed by the Warrior by Savannah Stuart (Review)

Savannah Stuart's Claimed by the Warrior is the third story in the Lumineta books. Of course I haven't read the previous books, but I think it's safe to say you can get away with not reading the previous stories. Granted there might be mention on how all humans ended up on Lumineta. I'm guessing. Anyway, we meet Leilani who goes up into mountain region without a mate or a chaperon. This is a big deal, because any unattached female can be held captive for basically month. Of course, this has a point, because they are so few female they figured that if they hold them captive, while they get courted the female might find reason to stay. Yes, a bit misguided, but desperate times call for desperate measure. Poor Leilani is held captive, and she does start falling for her captive (I know some of you are going Stockholm Syndrome). Actually, Con isn't a bad guy. He's totally an alpha male. It's hard for him to understand Leilani's feelings, but he slowly does.

I did like Claimed by the Warrior. It's tamer than some of Savannah's other stories, but still just as good. You do get a little steam and drama. Claimed by the Warrior is fairly quick read and can be finished the same day. Who knows you might be wanting to go off to Lumineta by the time you finished the story.

Like No Other Lover by Julie Anne Long (Review)

A few years back (almost five years ago), my friend lent me Like No Other Lover by Julie Anne Long. To say the least, I couldn't get into the story. I even looked ahead to see if there was anything that would pull me through. I just didn't wanted to read this book. So, I returned the book to her, and decided not the time. Now we jump ahead to today, and I have been given an opportunity to read Like No Other Lover with a changed view on my feelings. To my surprise I actually liked this story. Yes, I stilled struggled with the beginning, but there were things that got me through this story. Lets dive into my thoughts, and I hope you might find entertaining. If not that's okay with me, because I will still find them humorous.

Lets start with Cynthia Brightly. Seriously, she's not an easy character to like. What helped me to tolerate her at the beginning was Kanye West's Gold Digger ft. Jamie Foxx. The line that really stuck out was "She ain't messing with no broke bro." Of course I totally lost it, because she basically on the hunt for rich husband. Like everyone else I assume she spoil, shallow, and whatever else comes to mind. She doesn't do herself any favors, but once we start to dissect her character we find more than meets the eye. Truthfully she wants to be herself, but circumstances forces her to be who she is. I actually like her character a lot about halfway through the story. Honestly, she's a vulnerable person when she lets people in (meaning Miles).

Miles. Oh Miles. I struggle with him for a little bit. Yes, he had a chip on his shoulder when it came to Cynthia and her callous regard to him, even though she didn't know he heard her. Granted he didn't know her straits were dire, but he just had this preconceive notion that she was shallow and looking for money (gold digger). Here's why I struggle with Miles: The plan was to court Lady Georgina at the house party, entertain Lady Middlebough at night, and in a weird way flirt with Cynthia. Yea, he wasn't winning any points with me. Actually, I love one of the things Cynthia said to Miles
"Perhaps it's just that everyone expends so much effort upon making excellent matches without thought to the suitability of the pairing, and therefore much unhappiness is perpetuated."
This actually gave him a pause on his actions. That's when I actually appreciate Cynthia.

If you asked me five years ago about Like No Other Lover, I would have passed. Since I'm taking a journey of Pennyroyal Green, I found myself enjoying the story. I liked how Cynthia and Miles came together. They were both honest with one another on what they were after and in the end they found something better. If you can look past these two characters flaws, you will find an enjoyable story and I'm glad to take a chance on Miles and Cynthia.

Dragons Will Fall by Susan Scott (Review)

All right, I received the chance to read Susan Scott's (also known as Susannah Scott) Dragons Will Fall. This is a little different from her Vegas dragons, which we enter a fantastical area where we see dragons, magic, and powerful kings. Basically, we are introduce to a magical kingdom.

We meet Kas who is a half-light, which is a person born from a magician and human. They don't have the full power of a magician and they aren't quite human. The half-lights aren't accept into either group, so they are driven out of the land. Kas is trying to help her people, but don't see her as much help. Her character broke my heart, because she doesn't feel accept anywhere. Throughout the story we see her feeling alone a lot of the times. We also have Cullen who is the Dragon King. He basically searches out Kas to help his people recover from the sickness that is slowly killing the dragons. Kas feels that she can't help them, because her magic is unstable. We see Cullen trying to help her control her powers. If that wasn't the only issue we have an uprise in the winds. We traitors left and right, and we aren't quite sure who is set to seek out the demise of the dragons.

Overall, Dragons Will Fall is a pretty good start to this magical world where we find deceit and intrigue. I like that we see the foundation forming to introduce us to this magical kingdom. It peaked my interest to see what happens next. I'm curious to see what happens next.

Dragons Will Fall
Kingdom Come, 1
Susannah Scott
Sept 14, 2015

From Award of Excellence finalist and Angie Award winner, Susannah Scott, comes a new, ancient world series full of exiled magicians, imperiled dragon-shifters, and steamy romance.
An outcast magician with lousy control...

Kas is a half-light with the “gift” of invisibility and healing, but her sometimes deadly magic makes her distrusted by her own people. In an effort to prove her worth and save her people from execution, she infiltrates an enemy castle on a spy mission, but is kidnapped by a powerful intruder. When her only friend is taken hostage as well, Kas has no choice but to embrace her volatile magic and turn to her captor for help.

A dragon-shifter king with an island in revolt...

Cullen is the most powerful dragon of his generation, but strength and cunning won’t stop the mysterious scourge killing his kinsmen. After he steals Kas away to heal them, he’s incensed to find her magic is uncontrollable. Despite her unpredictable powers and non-existent fighting skills, he soon becomes convinced she holds the key to saving the dying dragon race. He’s willing to do anything to gain her cooperation. Even if it means breaking all taboos and seducing the crafty little magician.

With a kingdom of enemies after them both, Kas and Cullen must learn to trust each other before their kingdoms are rendered extinct.

If You Dare by Jessica Lemmon (Review)

A few years back (2013) I read Jessica Lemmon's If You Dare when it was a novella. Fantastic little story about a haunted house, a bet, and Hawaii. However, I couldn't really remember much about the story. The one thing that stood out was the house. We jump ahead (2015), and Jessica has added more to the story. I could not tell you what was added if my life depended on it, because story blends so well with the old and the new.

Okay my thoughts on the revise longer version of If You Dare, still a great story. I still enjoy the chemistry between Marcus and Lily. Actually a lot of my thoughts from my original post still apply so if you want to check them out click on If You Dare. The only difference that I notice was a new love scene, and there probably more. Like aI said it blends well from old and new. Honestly, it's a great little story to put you in spooky little events, with Halloween just around the corner a great way to start the season of spookiness.

Brent can’t resist the one person who sees past his devil-may-care façade, and Ivy finds it harder and harder to deny how happy he makes her. But she has secrets of her own and when the truth comes out, she must decide if she’ll run again or if she’ll take a chance on forever.

BOOK BLURB:

The Perils of Pleasure by Julie Anne Long (Review)

I have finally started Pennyroyal Green books. Yes, I know they have been out forever and I actually own pretty much all of them. Anyway, we are starting the journey and getting to know the Redmond and Eversea. The best way to describe these families relationship is if we liken them to the Hatfield and McCoy. However, I don't think the Hatfield and McCoy would have done some of the things in the story. By the end, I have some questions that will hopefully be answer by the end of the series. Anyway, lets dive into my thoughts.

Colin Eversea has been having a bit of bad luck. I mean he was convicted of murdering of a relative of a Redmond and is sentence to die at the gallows. Oh poor Eversea, he never thought his life would come to end by the gallows. However, luck must be on the side of Colin cause he's rescued by an enchanting woman. Okay, at the beginning he probably would use those words.

Madeleine Greenway has been hired to save Colin. I adore Madeleine, because she's not like any heroine I have come across. After the passing of her family, she had falling on dark times, and being a woman of little means she has been able financial save herself without whoring herself out. She's a clever gal and resourceful.

So, we have Colin who happens to be normally charming and charismatic, but when he tries to apply his charm it kind of falls short on Madeleine. Madeleine is pretty levelheaded throughout story, which keeps Colin safe. Actually the story line The Perils of Pleasure is actually fun and adventurous. Colin and Madeleine have to figure out what the heck is going on, I mean you have a daring rescue, but someone wants to eliminate Madeleine. We have those elements of the story, and lets not forget that Colin needs to stop his brother's wedding. After all his brother is marrying the girl of his dreams, or at least he believes at the beginning of the story. We see growth between Colin and Madeleine throughout the story. The Perils of Pleasure is a pretty good start to an epic adventure through Pennyroyal Green, might as well start with a fun Eversea.

Blurb

Protecting those in trouble is what Army Ranger Garrett Harding does best. But after helping a feisty redhead toss a couple of losers from her Idaho bar, the woman is anything but grateful for his assistance—in fact, she seems to know him. Worse, she almost certainly hates him.

The only thing Rachel Maguire wants is to send this smart-mouthed, muscled military man packing. She knows Garrett has his own reasons for staying, so when he offers Rachel a deal—two days to prove his worth or he leaves—she reluctantly agrees. Despite wanting to loathe him, Rachel finds herself drawn to his quiet confidence…and the way he fills out a t-shirt.

But when Rachel receives a phone call from the past, everything changes. The stalker who destroyed her life ten years ago is closing in once more. Refusing to put anyone else in harm's way, Rachel hits the road hoping to lure danger away from those she loves. But Garrett won't leave this sexy spitfire to face her stalker alone. He'll do anything to protect her. Even if it means risking his life—and his heart.
