About the book:

When Red falls for the Big Bad Wolf…

The Black Lily resistance needs a larger army if they are to defeat the vampire monarchy. In order to do so, former lieutenant and traitor to the vampire Crown, Nikolai must seek help from the red-hooded temptress he needs to avoid at all costs. The secret he carries could prove dangerous for her if she gets too close…even though keeping her close—very close—is the only thing on his mind.

Sienna will do anything for the Black Lily, and when Nikolai asks for her assistance to gain the trust of the commonwealth, it’s the last thing she wants to do. The thought of leaving her woods and her wolves behind is terrifying…not to mention the danger being with Nikolai poses.

My Thoughts:
Why pick The Red Lily? The blurb intrigued me. I can't remember if the cover was available yet, but once I saw the cover I was like, "YES". Cover slut what can I say. I'm pretty sure I have read Juliette Cross before, if not for shame on me. Now I would strongly recommend not doing what I did, and that would be starting with book two. Granted it would be pretty easy to pick up whats going on in the story, but I STRONGLY recommend not. Other than my recommendation on reading book one, The Red Lily was a fantastic read. I seriously want to go back and read book one; seriously can't wait for the next book in the series.

Anyway, we have Sienna who lives in the woods. She's protected by the woods, but when her friend calls for her help she decides to venture out of the woods for the cause. Now she's being escorted by Nikolai, who she's not sure about. He's a vampire and danger to her senses.

Seriously, amazing story. Juliette creates a world where you have vampires and humans living together. However, you have one vampire who wants domination over the whole land, and you have a group trying to stop her. We watch as the Queen works on building her army, while the Black Lily wants to destroy her and bring order back. Like I said Sienna lives in the woods and is protected there, but there's something special about her. You don't realize it until you get further into the story. She's an awesome heroine, because she doesn't realize the power with in. Nikolai is also amazing, because he's looking for redemption for what he has done in the past. However, he doesn't really need, but he doesn't believe. He truly believes he's a monster, and it isn't until Sienna shows him that he's not a monster that he sees.

A fantastic read. You will find adventure and danger lurking around The Red Lily. Yes, you might get sucked into this land hoping for peace and harmony. However, that is a long way away, until the wicked Queen is stopped. So, if this sounds like your adventure, you might consider this series. You might be anxiously waiting for the next book like me.
